Description

In Puerto Rico, the term “arriero” or “jarriero” is commonly used to refer to the house mouse. It is a small rodent that adapts easily to urban environments and can enter through very small openings in search of food and shelter.

Characteristics

• Small size (7–10 cm not including the tail).
• Gray or light brown color.
• High reproductive capacity.
• Mostly active at night.

• Contamination of food and surfaces.
